Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How does the expandable feature work on the Wanderer tail bag?
A: The RahGear Wanderer uses a flexible design with expandable side panels or compression straps that allow you to adjust capacity. Tighten for minimal profile on short rides or loosen for increased storage on longer tours.
Q: What’s the maximum capacity of the Wanderer tail bag when fully expanded?
A: The Wanderer is designed to accommodate touring essentials like sleeping bags, spare clothes, and camping gear for 3-7 day trips. Exact capacity depends on packing efficiency, and our support team can provide specific dimensions.
Q: Is the tail bag waterproof for monsoon riding?
A: The Wanderer features weather-resistant exterior material that handles rain and road spray well. For heavy monsoon conditions or water crossings, we recommend using waterproof pouches inside for electronics and documents.
Q: How do I mount the Wanderer to my motorcycle?
A: The bag uses straps or hooks that attach to your rear fender, seat area, or sub-frame. No permanent modifications required. The mounting is tool-free and takes minutes to install or remove.
Q: Will the tail bag affect my motorcycle’s aerodynamics or visibility?
A: The Wanderer is designed with a streamlined shape that minimizes wind resistance. The compact profile maintains visibility from following traffic, though reflective strips or lights can be added for enhanced safety.
